This month we'll be learning to clean, scrape and analyse data using a newly released tool called Workbench (http://workbenchdata.com/).
Created as an open source project at Columbia Journalism School, Workbench is designed to make data journalism accessible and transparent with no coding skill required.
We'll be following four mini-tutorials on loading data and making embeddable charts, cleaning data, scraping and monitoring web pages and analysing live Twitter data.
Bring a laptop along as this a practical, hands-on workshop. No programming experience is required.
Make sure you are signed up to Dropbox to view our shared doc (http://bit.ly/journocoders-jul-2018) -- and add links to anything data or journalism-related you've seen or worked on to the show and tell section!

What is Journocoders?
Journocoders is a monthly meetup for journalists and others working in the media to learn and share technical skills for use in their reporting. We aim to bring the culture of knowledge sharing from the tech industry to journalism and give people the chance to learn and network in a supportive environment with likeminded individuals.
