We are organizing a hands-on workshop, trying to inspire the community on trying new things and we also demonstrate how easy it is to get things started by doing minimal research and having a little bit of inspiration.
In the 'DIY workshop: let's build a smart mini-garden' program, the goal of each participant is to build and to collaborate with the others in order to obtain a smart plant system. Thus, using different sensors and other electronic components (microcontrollers, relays, water pumps), events such as watering the plant when the humidity drops below a certain threshold or the notifying the user when there is no liquid left in the vessel, become possible, together with statistics about the plant's environment (temperature and humidity).
At the end of the workshop, each participant will have the freedom to modify absolutely any technology involved in the project, from being capable of playing with the hardware elements and the algorithms (written in Objective-C - Arduino syntax). And all resources, from the source code to the electronic schemes will always be available through the ScoaladeRobotica.ro platform.
We will be describing the approach mode and hardware interaction schemes together with providing information on each element and to coordinate the workshop, so that each participant will lead to an end product. Also, we are in charge of providing all the information on how to scale and subsequently modify the project.
We include elements of upcycling and we cultivate the courage to break something in order to achieve something better.
Prepare to get your hands dirty, we will be destroying and re-making stuff.

Costs and resources
The costs of the participants for this Codecamp Workshop is only the purchase of the kit (130 RON - you can buy it here), which remains with the participant, all the logistics needed to build the project (from soldering gun, other necessary tools, to protective elements), coming as support from us.
Each participant will have his own small working stand so that his experience will be complete.
