Business continuity is a major concern for all companies nowadays which makes it crucial for all systems to be highly available. To achieve this, these systems have to be fully monitored to find out the bottlenecks and to be able to act very early if anything goes wrong.

In this talk, we will try to answer these questions:
- Why monitoring?
- What to monitor?
- Available monitoring ecosystem?
- What is Promethues?
- How does Prometheus work?
- How does Prometheus help in keeping the system running?
- What are the alternatives?
- How to visualize monitored metrics?

Prometheus is an open-source systems monitoring and alerting toolkit originally built at SoundCloud. Since its inception in 2012, many companies and organizations have adopted Prometheus, and the project has a very active developer and user community. It is now a standalone open source project and maintained independently of any company under Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF).
