Women Who Code Berlin is happy to host an Intro to Web Development workshop series in collaboration with Wayfair! For this series we will be asking for a nominal fee as a guarantee of attendance which will be processed as a donation to Women Who Code.

Description of the event:

On the PHP event, you will learn about how to save data.

Description of Web Development serries:

Are you interested in programming, but have no idea where to start? Have you ever wondered how a web site works?
The course is aimed to provide a beginner friendly overview of all the bits and pieces that make up web development. It is not an in-depth analysis of the different programming languages. The focus is on the integration between the different technologies and how they work together to create a web site.
We will briefly cover how to use a web server, how to insure the security of your website, and what the most common types of attack are. We will focus 50% on syntax and 50% on the concepts and ways to approach topics such as development, security, integrations and so on.

Takeaways for the whole workshop series:
- You will have a basic understanding of the different technologies and languages of the web and how they work together
- You will learn the important vocabulary around web development
- You will have an idea if web development is for you
- You will know where you can continue learning

- Basic knowledge of HTML.
- A laptop and a text editor of your choice.
- Follow the installation steps here:

Time Comittment:
There will be no homework for this workshop series and no material for self study. You should attend all 5 events as each class builds on the previous week.

Teacher Bio:

Radu Nicoara
Radu has been working as a programmer for the past 10 years. He has learned a variety of programming languages by using YouTube and developing personal projects. He is currently working as a Full Stack Engineer for Wayfair GmbH.
