Building a good product inevitably requires interacting with other people. In their talk, Julia and Stephan would like to look at the team work from different angles and elaborate on how to work with people from other disciplines, backgrounds, countries and time zones. We will discuss the challenges of team work and how to deal with them, the role of feedback, processes and personal connection. Our speakers will share their stories, ask your to share yours and hopefully all together we will find how we, as designers, can improve the team work experience.
Stephan Stipdonk has over 10 years of UX research and design experience at Elsevier, a major academic publisher. In those years he has helped build brand new products and improve existing flagship products like ScienceDirect. Since this year he is doing freelance UX consulting at the Consumentenbond helping them improve their game. Stephan’s main areas of interests are aesthetics, logical analysis and psychology. From time to time he likes to get his hands dirty with graffiti and is occasionally able to think inside the box but prefers to disregard boundaries whenever possible.
Julia Malyk is a user experience designer working at Elsevier in Amsterdam. She focuses on ideation, user research and iterative prototyping (paper, Sketch, code, you name it). Besides UX design, she does a bit of calligraphy, graphic design, and always learns a language or two.
