How can digital help the arts and culture sector thrive?
Digital technology is transforming various aspects of the arts and culture sector. From digital marketing and social engagement, to experiential and interactive technology, to experimental digital art forms – the potential impact is staggering. But arts and culture organisations also face huge economic challenges, and a constant struggle to keep pace with a rapidly changing world.
In March, we're inviting our members to join us at a new central London location to take part in a digital conversation about the role of digital channels and technology in helping the arts and culture sector thrive. And we've invited some forward thinking people to share their perspectives and ideas with us:
• Ludvig Lohse is a Digital Media manager at Imperial War Museums
• Katy Beale is the co-founder of Caper and co-organiser of Culture Hack
• Rob Curran is a digital strategist at Reading Room
• Simon nash is Planning Director at Reading Room
• We're hoping to confirm a new speaker on the digital arts perspective tbc
Lastly we're also pleased to say that creative technologist Andrew Larking has hacked together a clever contextually aware mobile app specially for the event. We'll be demoing the app live and he'll be talking about the challenges he faced building it as well as the potential applications for the arts and culture sector.
Two last minute changes to the lineup - Gill Johnson (Arts Council) and Dave Patten (Science Museum) are no longer able to join us. Ludvig Lohse has kindly stepped into the breach and I am in the process of trying to confirm a speaker to pick up the digital arts perspective.
