Join us in the House of Commons at a meeting to discuss the development of the community and voluntary sector and hosted by Victoria Borwick MP.
Community groups have grown in huge numbers in the last three decades and their relationship with the state – both national and local – has been a problematic one.
This will be a deliberative meeting in the House of Commons to look at this issue and to follow through the meetings we held in the Spring of this year with London Assembly Members about the vital role of the community and Voluntary sector. This will be held in collaboration with the London Voluntary Sector Council (LSVC.)
We plan to review progress made on supporting voluntary and community action across London.
Helping us in this discussion will be
Victoria Borwick MP for Kennsington and former Deputy Mayor of London.
Matt Scott Policy & Project Manager at LVSC and Lecturer at London Metropolitan University
Armine Ishkanian Programme Director of the MSc in Social Policy and Development (States & NGOs) at the LSE
One further speaker tbc
We are booking a smaller room so that the meeting can be more of a dialogue rather than a debate. So if you want a place it will be best to book early and because of the limited places please confirm your place only if you do intend to attend this meeting.
