Over the last five years, 'agile' has continued to explode on the radars of corporations, businesses and government departments across the globe. We know that this has moved from early adopter stage through to late adopter stage with:
1) major conservative businesses (like banks and some former Government Businesses) moving aggressively to adopt agile at such scale
2) Agile at scale finally being on the cover of Harvard Business Review - https://hbr.org/2018/05/agile-at-scale
3) And finally - the project management community has responded with one of the major project management professional bodies (PMI) acquiring Disciplined Agile (DAD) as the continue to push to remain relevant in a world moving increasingly agile:
The problem with such growth of agile outside of its testing grounds of technology manaagement and teams, is how open it is to misinterpretation by people without the right level of experience and skills. This misinterpretation of core agile values and principles are damaging agile implementations and reducing benefits.
One person and organisation who is attempting to rebalance the conversation by offering reasoned conversation, case studies and structure for thinking about agile outside of IT is Evan Leybourn from the business agility institute. https://businessagility.institute/
Come tonight to listen to Evan share his insights from his recent Business Agility conferences in: NYC, Washington DC, Vienna and Hyderabad. Listen to him explain the Insititue's frame of reference in thinking and tackling the challenge of taking agile out of IT and to the rest of the world.
