Furniture upcycling workshop with Seagulls

Feb 12, 2022 · West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Furniture Upcycling Workshop with Seagulls. Learn new skills to upcycle unique pieces of furniture for your home at Leeds City Museum.

In this workshop you will learn how to transform a piece of furniture. Bring your own piece and we will give you the skills and confidence to upcycle your piece of furniture. You will learn how to prepare, sand, paint and finish your item using Seagulls paint to breathe a new lease of life into your chosen piece. As well as painting you will learn how to create shapes and patterns that are simple to achieve.

This workshop is for people who have always wanted to have a go at painting furniture but don't know where to start or don't feel brave enough to put brush to wood! The workshop is relaxed and informal and by keeping the class size small we can guarantee you will have plenty of time to focus on your piece of furniture with our tutor.

Equipment, paint and finishes are included in the price. All you need to bring is your piece of furniture. This should be easy to carry and no larger than a bedside table or chair.

All abilities welcome although this workshop is designed for beginners. It can get messy so please wear clothes that you don't mind getting grubby!

As the pieces of furniture will likely need to dry overnight, you can leave the furniture at the museum, in the workshop space and collect the piece on Sunday 13th February 2022. Any queries, please ask :).
