Fable is an F# to JS compiler with a great community that is growing at a fast pace (learn more about it in this Channel9 video). On Sept 22-23, FableConf, the first conference dedicated to web development in F# will take place place in the beautiful city of Bordeaux. This will be a great opportunity to learn all the opportunities Fable offers to .NET/F# developers:
• Fable and F# allow you to use in the frontend of your web apps many of the concepts (types, properties, inheritance) as well as APIs (collections, DateTime, Regex, string formatting) you are already familiar with.
• Likewise, although Fable is not tied to any backend technology, it works great with .NET servers like ASP.Net or Suave, allowing you to share code and types with easy serialization through Newtonsoft.Json.
• Fable integrates with the JS ecosystem, meaning you can do not only web apps, but also Node, React Native or Electron apps. Likewise, Fable is designed to make interop with JS as easy as possible. With Fable, using a JS library from F# (either in a typed or dynamic manner) or even importing a single JS function for a punctual need is a no-brainer.
In no more than a year, Fable has already been put in production by several projects and companies like the disruptive Gamma, Ionide, msu Solutions, nsynk.de or Prolucid. FableConf will comprehend one days of talks and another day of workshops to make sure you put into practice all the things you will learn (Elm architecture, editor extensions, AI training in the browser...). But not everything will be only about coding: there will be also great food and a fantastic and diverse community that will help you discover a new meaning for the word "collaboration"!
F#unctional londoners can also use the promo code FABLEROCKS to get a discount when buying the ticket. We hope to see you there!
