Exploring Deep Learning with Azure DSVMs

May 9, 2018 · Pittsburgh, United States of America

We're going to look at leveraging the Azure Data Science VMs to learn about deep learning. We'll use Python to explore Microsoft CNTK and Tensorflow, as well as looking at H20 and Julia. During the walkthrough, we'll take a short dive into neural networks, how they work, and what is happening under the covers with deep learning.

If you don't have an Azure subscription, you can get a free trial here: https://azure.microsoft.com

We'll be utilizing a Linux Data Science Virtual Machine and will spend the first 10-20 minutes provisioning the VM.

You can follow this walkthrough to provision a DSVM ahead of time, just turn it off after it is provisioned in order to not use up all of the trial resources.

This group is for data scientists, data engineers, big data workers, data analysts, and people that want to get into these fields. We are not focused on specific tools or platforms, but rather have open discussions about anything/everything in the data/analytics space. Whether you work in Scala/Python/R/Java/.NET, Hadoop/SQL/Oracle/Teradata, or Excel/Tableau, we can learn from each other.
