Testing is an important part of software craftsmanship but it's damn hard to get right. You need to balance the cost (of implementing, maintaining and running a test suite) with the benefits (feedback).
We invite you to a discussion about testing strategies: how are you testing and at what level? What's working and what's not working? Do you have some tips and tricks that you'd like to share?
To kickstart the discussion Alin, Adrian and Victor will do 3 lightning talks about testing on 3 different projects/products. After that we'll have an open discussion about testing in practice.
Please join us if you have something to share or you'd like to hear what other community members have to say about testing.
18:00 - 18:15: Welcome Reception
18:15 - 19:00: 3 test strategies on 3 different projects (lightning talks by Alin, Adrian & Victor)
19:00-19:30: Open Discussion
About the speakers:
Alin is a pragmatic, to the point personality and a big fan of KISS mindset. Java developer at core, not religious as he is in favor of the best tool for the job. Alin truly believe technology is the best way to solve real life problems, not a problem itself.
Adrian is software developer working with code since the ‘90s, with Java since Diablo was released and professionally from the summer of 2001.
Victor Chircu is a software architect at Endava, where he works on enterprise projects. He is also part of OneTeam where he works on passion projects (like http://caut-cadou.ro). He is a continuous learner, likes solving real problems and sharing experiences with other people. Victor is currently interested in code quality, building distributed systems, continuous delivery and BDD. If you want to see what he’s currently learning and thinking, check his blog: https://www.simpleorientedarchitecture.com/
