Abstract

Following last month's blockchain discussion, this month, we'll focus on Ethereum, a blockchain and cryptocurreny with "Smart Contracts" ie a Turing complete scripting language. We'll discuss the architecture of Ethereum and a common Ethereum application architecture.

We'll discuss how the elements of blockchain apply or might apply in some scenarios based on:
Recording and settling toll tag transactions
Brokering sensor and IoT data

We'll conclude by very lightly poking through some posted code of an IoT Ethereum application.

* The presentation will be an Ethereum overview from a technical perspective and won't include any investment information.

Speaker
John Lindsay developed the Coaster Smooth Driver Monitoring app, which monitors driver behavior using smartphones from accelerometer and GPS data.
