Entrepreneurs SG - Innovation in Food Tech

New food startups are popping up every day. Some focus on innovation with ingredients, others on ‘FoodTech’, ie using new technology to produce, transport, prepare and cook food efficiently and sustainably. This event aims to provide members of the UK startup community - especially early stage companies - insights into the opportunities and challenges, and how the tech sector can collaborate.

Our speakers from across the food innovation world will share their insights and take part in a panel discussion and Q & A session.

After the panel session, there is networking over drinks and eats, plus the opportunity for entrepreneurs to participate in speed-mentoring sessions.

Speakers

Sue Nelson ​https://www.linkedin.com/in/suenelson1/ Founder of the Food Tech working group at Tech London Advocates, Author of FoodTech UK and presenter on ‘The Food Talk Show’ podcast. Sue will chair the event. Setting the scene with an overview from the artisan producer and food industry viewpoint, she will cover growth trends and the potential for collaboration with the more established elements of the food sector.

Ritam Gandhi​ ​https://www.linkedin.com/in/ritam-gandhi-09533412/ Founder of Studio Graphene, a design and engineering agency working with a number of start ups and cutting-edge enterprises to turn ideas in to reality. Ritam will discuss how one can leverage existing digital and IoT based technologies to help enhance everything from supply chain to customer experience within the FoodTech arena. He will provide an overview of emerging software and hardware technologies, including examples such as Hawk Safety, which enables the safer production of food in commercial kitchens, and Twistar, a new type of customer feedback device.

Eduard Erwee ​https://www.linkedin.com/in/eduarderwee/ Co-Founder of Best in Bag, an app that allows consumers to scan barcodes on products to obtain detailed nutritional information & healthier alternatives: helpful not just for people with diabetes and other dietary issues, but for anyone with an interest in what they eat. They use the same algorithm to generate Insight Reporting for SME FMCG manufacturers. Eduard will share his experience of raising funds, launching the product on the app stores, teething problems and IT challenges.

Ben Davies ​https://www.linkedin.com/in/ben-davies-b935a23b/ Founder & CEO of VYPR, an innovation intelligence platform that helps brands & manufacturers launch better new products. Ben will talk about setting up the company, raising funds from angels and VCs, and why differentiation is fundamental to the success of starting a business in the food industry.
