Diving into the internals of Apache Ignite's memory architecture w/ @denismagda

Jul 27, 2017 · San Mateo, United States of America

Please join us July 27 for an informative (and fun) talk about Apache Ignite!

Denis Magda, GridGain Systems product manager and Apache® Ignite™ PMC Chair, will be diving into the internals of Apache Ignite’s memory architecture. His talk is titled: "Apache Ignite Memory Architecture - A Memory-Centric Approach to Durable Distributed Systems."

Food and drinks will be provided by GridGain! After you register for the meetup, click here for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card! (Must be present to win!) We'll also be giving away two full-access passes to the In-Memory Computing Summit Silicon Valley, Oct. 24-25 in South San Francisco.

Abstract: Apache Ignite is one of the fastest growing Apache projects.  The presentation will take the audience on a roadmap discovery of Ignite moving to a memory-centric storage model, supporting both, fast in-memory and durable on-disk data, and blending a distributed SQL database with an in-memory key-value data grid. We will cover differences in modern storage systems and dive in detail in how Ignite durable memory is architected, including:

• Page-based off-heap architecture

• B+Tree indexes

• Write-ahead-log (WAL)

• Data checkpointing

About the speaker:
Denis is an expert in distributed systems and platforms. Before joining GridGain and becoming a part of Apache® Ignite™ community, he worked for Oracle where he led the Java ME Embedded Porting Team -- helping Java open cross new boundaries by entering the IoT market.
