Digital Health & IoT - Joining MedTech startups from Stanford SPARK

Aug 29, 2017 · Nedlands, Australia

Accelerating Australia is a national biomedical translation consortium that in collaboration with MTPConnect is funding the SPARK Co-Lab (http://www.sparkcolab.com) medical device design course and CERI boot camps (http://ceri.org.au/). Spark Co-Lab based its Design course on a program at Stanford University, which has been successfully aiding the translation of new medical discoveries over the last decade, focusing on medical device technology and pharma. CERI developed its entrepreneurial mindset boot camp from the MIT and Ice House programs.. As the cohorts of startups create medical devices, they are often in need of IoT technology as well as digital health analytics platform to complete the end-to-end solution. Also, how can our Perth IoT Community Network help them innovate faster and better.

During the session, you will hear firsthand from the 2016 and 2017 Spark Co-Lab and CERI Medtech innovator cohorts. What are they doing, what challenges they are facing and how our community members can help them to complete or improve their products. This is a great opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals and generate real benefits for our community.

As security is a critical element of every solution, our sponsor Diamond Cyber will present on what it means to design secure internet connected (Iot) devices, keeping in mind the critical elements of the solution.

This is an exciting event where Accelerating Australia (incl Spark Co-Lab and CERI), IoE Community, Perth Internet of Things Communications Network and Diamond Cyber are coming together for the benefits of the community in Perth.

I hope to see you all there !

PS

Around 40 people will come from Accelerating Australia and 50 from our IoE community so book your place early as it will go out fast !

The Internet of Things (IoT) is getting global attention. The "Things" generate data for human or machine consumption and are controlled by either humans or machines. The Internet of Everything (IoE) extends the scope of the IoT with 3 additional dimensions: Data, People, Process.  This group is the Western Australian chapter of the Internet of Everything Community Network (ioecommunity.org). We are not only looking at technology implementation and real-life examples of IoE/IoT implementations, but also in
