We live in a time where designers and design leaders finally have a say in the business direction, can influence a strategy and lead the direction of the product. In a world with so many competitive products and services emerging, user experience and design aesthetics play a big role in differentiating these products and leaving a mark in the market.
But what does it take to be able to fight this fight, what does it mean to be a designer to whom everyone looks up to? Designers expect to be guided and advised, other stakeholders expect you to be sophisticated enough to understand business objectives and work towards them.
And how about the companies where design presence is just being established, where design leaders have to cleverly navigate their way in to have a say? How do you play your cards and make sure to be valued and appreciated?
