Delivering Better Products Using Design Sprints

Apr 17, 2018 · San Francisco, United States of America

What is a design sprint? Even though the word sprint is familiar, a design sprint does not resemble a development sprint. A design sprint is a user-focused, creative undertaking that helps you ensure you are creating a valuable product for your customers. Design sprints are powerful when used before development begins.

This session will introduce attendees to the five-day design sprint process developed and popularized by Google Ventures. Gitta will describe how teams can use this process to arrive at a user-validated, shared understanding of a product or service, before it is built. In addition to describing design sprint activities using real-world examples, Gitta will provide insight into the design thinking principles that make design sprints effective.

Participants will engage in small group exercises to gain firsthand design sprint / design thinking experience.

This session will be of specific interest to product owners and business people who can benefit from design approaches to defining a product’s UX, features and functions. If you are a scrum master or other dev team member, this session will explain how design techniques can help ensure you are building the right thing for your customers.
