Deforestation and Climate Change

Apr 10, 2014 · London, United Kingdom

Following on from previous meetings, this group meeting will look at deforestation, which is one of the main direct contributing factors to global climate change.
According to the World Resources Institute, the world lost an area roughly the size of England every year between 2000 and 2010.
The greenhouse gas emissions caused by deforestation turns the benefits of forests into negative effects on the environment and human populations.
Our speaker on this important topic is Irena Antohi.
Irena is sustainability professional with a passion for addressing global environmental issues. Through her research in a world-class academic environment and combined with professional experience, Irena is skilled in environmental services, integrated water management, green building principles, sustainable business models and sustainability education.
After the presentation there will be a facilitated discussion.
