Hi Everyone,
We invited two speakers from Salesforce to talk about Refocus, an open source data visualization project. Details are listed below.
Speech # 1
Why we built Refocus
Abstract: Refocus gives everyone, from frontline engineers to c-level executives, realtime visibility into the health of their products and infrastructure. It uses beautiful visualizations that are tailored to the different users and can be customized to suit different needs.
Speaker: Vijay Swamidass
Speech #2
Making your own lens with Refocus’ Lens Developer Kit (LDK)
Abstract: Refocus is a platform for visualizing the status of monitored subjects. The platform does not attempt to provide visualizations to satisfy every type of user. Instead, it allows users to install add-on modules, which we call lenses, to provide new visualizations. Each lens provides a new visualization to help users understand their data in a new way.
The LDK lets you build and test a lens quickly and iteratively, without having to install it into a running Refocus application. The LDK also provides some dummy data sets and simulates realtime events so you can test how your lens handles hierarchy data and realtime events.
