6:30 pm – 7:15 pm: Translating great leaps of insight from Big Data into growth and revenue - Jo Prichard, LexisNexis. This presentation will focus on LexisNexis examples of generating insights from big data, and the challenges of translating those insights into growth opportunities. Covered will be the following key topics:

Tools and algorithms to improve your big data court sense and generate insights.
Practical examples of solving big data puzzles and generating insights. E.g. Mortgage Fraud, Medicaid Fraud, Socialization of Drugs, Geosocial Mapping to combat Identity theft rings.
Challenges to overcome when translating big data insights into opportunity, specifically within an enterprise environment.

7:30 pm – 8:15 pm: Data Scientists: The Storytellers of the 21st Century - Kaushik K. Das, Greenplum, a Division of EMC. Data Scientists need to tell the story hidden in big data. How do we bring together the technologies, math and domain knowledge available to us to tell a meaningful story? Kaushik will talk about the process of doing data science and illustrate with examples from the work of the Greenplum Data Science team. Key Topics: 1. The Data Science Process - what story should I tell? 2. The importance of the choosing the correct pieces of technology 3. Examples from real life showing the role of flexibility

8:15 pm - 9:00 pm: Q&A Session, Networking, Mixer

Bio: 1. Jo Prichard, LexisNexis Mr. Prichard is an Architect/Data Scientist at LexisNexis Risk Solutions. He has responsibilities to the HPCC Systems platform technology. He spearheads specific types of big data R&D within LexisNexis for various industries to help customers target fraud, collusion and other red flag social indicates. Prior to LexisNexis, Mr. Prichard worked for Topspeed Software R&D in London and was a conference speaker on various aspects of the Clarion programming language.
2. Kaushik Kunal Das, Greenplum, a Division of EMC.
Kaushik Kunal Das is Senior Principal Data Scientist with Greenplum, the Big Data division of EMC. His job is to find data science problems and solve them using the Greenplum Unified Analytics Platform. He works primarily in the field of marketing as well with problems in the energy sector. Before joining Greenplum he has worked for more than 10 years in analytics software and consulting.
