Data Access and Analytics using U-SQL

U-SQL is a language that unifies the benefits of query power of SQL, with the power of the C# language. In this presentation, we'll start off with an overview of Azure's Data Lake Store and Data Lake Analytics portal features, and then we'll focus in on the U-SQL language, it's keywords for example, EXTRACT, SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, HAVING, OUTPUT. We'll see how to use C# to extend the U-SQL language all within a Visual Studio 2017 project.

Carl Prothman

Carl Prothman has over 20 years of experience in the software industry as a Consultant with specialties in C#, SQL, TSQL, SCOPE, U-USQL, Large Data, Map Reduce, and Azure Insights & Analytics. He been recognized as a Microsoft ASP.NET MVP[masked], President of the .NET Developers Association Users Group[masked], an INETA speaker[masked], and a Bellevue College Teacher (C#/ADO.NET) 2002-current. Carl has a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics (BSAA) from the University of Washington 1983. And he has worked for clients such as Microsoft, Boeing, and Rockwell International.
