CSS Grid, or, The Web Finally Agrees On Layout, and You Can Too

Jan 11, 2018 · Seattle, United States of America

Speaker: Greg Hurlman

Abstract: It’s been 20 years since frames and tables were the way to do lay out your web pages just so, and we finally have a way to do it that is responsive, cross-browser, and requires no javascript at all! We will take a look at where CSS Grid came from & what it can do, the new CSS functions and unit of measurement(!) that are here to support CSS Grid, where flexbox ends up in all of this, and where we go from here.

Note: If this meetup topic sound familiar, it's because it was originally scheduled for November but had to be cancelled at the last minute because of a speaker emergency. Everything is good now with Greg and he is excited about presenting on January 11.

Schedule: Doors open at 6:00 pm. Food arrives around 6:05. Presentation starts at 6:30.

Other: As always, the meetup is completely free. Thanks to Adobe for sponsoring the group, the meeting location, and providing drinks. TEK Systems will be providing pizza.
