With the growth of extremism across the country in recent years, join us as we look at how one local authority and community have managed this worrying trend by developing conversations between communities in order to foster harmony.

The webinar will discuss how Luton has dealt with past and current issues that challenge cohesion within its communities, with an overview of the Luton in Harmony campaign concept and its journey to promoting a town-wide movement built around cohesion. Luton In Harmony aims to draw communities together by challenging prejudice and hatred, wherever it comes from, and unite the town in supporting, giving voice to, and celebrating its diversity
The discussion will also cover the Stand Up Luton Programme, a community activist network that similarly seeks to promote positivity. Luton Council’s past and developing role in leading and coordinating responses to extremism in partnership with local communities will also feature.
This is the second of three pilots where we look at intercommunity conflict, possible solutions and the process of dialogue needed to achieve these solutions.
