Creating A Culture of Awesome with Evan Birtch, Katie Grierson and Julia Meglei

Sep 18, 2017 · Kitchener, Canada

Hear firsthand from our recruitment team on the history behind things like InFusion, Cake day, Fusion X, Games Night and more.

You’ll also hear from our very own Technology, Engineering and Design (TED) employees on what it’s like working at D2L, what we look for in candidates and what to expect once you’re here.

Join us for food, drinks and some great conversation and get a peek inside our HQ office space in Kitchener.

Evan Birtch, Recruitment Programs & Operations Manager

Evan supports recruitment for our TED teams and has been at D2L for close to 5 years. He also leads our Co-op and New Grad recruitment. He’s a numbers guy and supports our Recruitment metrics and reporting functions. Fun fact about Evan, he once had running a marathon on his bucket list, he checked that off and refuses to run anywhere now.

Katie Grierson, Recruitment & Talent Management Coordinator

Katie supports our TED organization with recruitment coordination as well as other initiatives like Spark (our corporate LMS running on our Brightspace platform), Glassdoor, employee recognition, and employee engagement initiatives such as FusionX. She first joined D2L as a Co-op in December 2013, working as a Project Coordinator in Implementation Services and joined HR in January 2016. She has two dogs (Emmie and Tigger) who take turns coming to work!

Julia Meglei, Senior Recruiter

Julia supports Recruitment for our Customer Engagement, Business Operations, Corporate and Strategy and Product Management teams. She’s been with D2L for almost 5 years and is involved with various employee engagement initiatives such as our D2L Culture Club and leading events such as Bring In Your Parents and Take Our Kids to Work day. When she’s not searching for cool photos or employee spotlights to feature on our D2L_Careers Instagram, you can find her traveling the world, hunting for new ideas to feed her interior design passion or spending time with family and friends.
