VMware believes that containers and VMs are complementary technologies, not competitive technologies - that they are simply different tools in the same toolbox. Ben and his team have spent the last 3 years blurring the lines between containers and VMs and Ben will spend this presentation giving deep technical insights into what they've learned, what VMware's customers are doing, how container technology is fundamentally changing the consumption model of vSphere and what the future holds for this space. There are two hard things in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-one errors. In this talk we’ll tackle the naming, specially, Docker version naming. Labels, Tags, Checksums . . . how should you use these things to keep track of docker versions?
