Geek Girls Carrots Presents: Demo Day - Cycle #2!
If you've ever wondered what Geek Girls Carrots does and how we can help you expand your technological knowledge, or how we train the freshest female tech talent, this is your opportunity to find out.
This year, we launched a new initiative where members participate in a 7-week project cycle. Within the course of this program, participants form groups and choose a topic which will allow them to both acquire the technical skills they are seeking, as well as produce a finished project.
During this cycle, our cohort consisted of individuals with moderate technical knowledge as well as absolute beginners. In seven weeks’ time, our participants have been absorbing a plethora of information, from making websites with Wordpress to programming in Ruby to building robots. Most importantly, they have been learning the real-life skills necessary to thrive in a professional tech role:
• Project Management
• Team Building
• Assessment and Analysis
• Solution Development
Come witness the fruits of their labor, and the kind of results that can be obtained when women rapidly acquire a new skill in a supportive and encouraging environment.
On the hiring end? Add some female talent to your company! The women who join Geek Girls Carrots are intelligent, eager and industrious. Acquire diligent fledgling programmers and developers, and give them the opportunity to blossom into the employee you so desperately need—we’ve already done the hard part for you.
Join us as we view amazing new projects; listen to presentations by industry professionals; network, and enjoy refreshments.
