Voice-based virtual assistants are all the rage these days, with Alexa and Siri invoked by countless users daily at home and in the office to help with an assortment of tasks, from playing your favorite music to taking care of your laundry or shopping list. Artificial intelligence is playing a big role in making these assistants smarter and tailoring the experience to the individual user.
In this workshop, we’ll show you how to build your own voice-based system with ‘hot word’ detection in Python. The assistant will be called into action on ‘hearing’ any word you choose as a trigger, and prompt for further instructions, which will be processed using Google’s AI based platform Dialogflow.
You’ll learn how to implement hot word detection, use speech recognition and text-to-speech libraries and set up response flows using Dialogflow. This workshop will be conducted by student inventor and entrepreneur Rishabh Java, founder of Broccoli Brains, a range of custom mind-controlled electronic toys and robots.
