All members and partners of CIBSE in collaboration with Building Services Institutes & Associations are invited to attend – The 2019 Annual Christmas Luncheon
As usual for our Christmas event, we have a speaker who presents on a non-technical topic of interest to both those involved in Building Services and their partners who tend to nod off during technical discussions! So, feel free to bring your partner.
This year we are pleased to have a presentation by Geoff Cooper; an Australian Indigenous Elder for the law courts of South Australia and Board member of the Aboriginal Veterans of South Australia as speaker:
Geoff’s talk will be on the Stolen Generation and life being a Stolen Generation person and include: What was life before being removed. What happened on the day of removal (at age 9). Life after being removed. Family re-connection and his work history with the Aboriginal Community and life today.
$80.00 per person including a selection from the Private Dining Menu and wine/softdrinks, for all participating members and partners. Profits from the luncheon, with personal donations encouraged, to be donated to Mates in Construction. Note: The Building Employees Redundancy Trust (BERT) Welfare Fund founded Mates in Construction (MIC) in 2008 and provides support to the Building Industry sector through its program of suicide awareness, with other initiatives that support work with mental health problems preventing them from developing.
