Many businesses in diverse industries, from Enterprise to startup, are moving to GraphQL. Please join us for a special evening to learn how Ticketmaster and Bustle are using GraphQL today. Tom Bray, Chief Architect at Ticketmaster, will share experiences driving adoption of GraphQL at Ticketmaster. He'll describe challenges in switching from REST to GraphQL, the benefits they have realized and new capabilities that GraphQL has unlocked. Tyler Love, CTO for Bustle, will describe their journey to GraphQL and how they built a serverless GraphQL API that scales to support 80 million users. Each session will include an interactive Q&A with attendees.
In addition to talks from Ticketmaster and Bustle, AWS will provide an overview of AWS AppSync and GraphQL. AWS AppSync is a managed GraphQL service that automatically updates data in web and mobile applications in real time, and updates data for offline users as soon as they reconnect. Using GraphQL with AWS AppSync allows clients to quickly and securely access data in the cloud using Amazon DynamoDB, AWS Lambda or Amazon ElasticSearch.
Managed GraphQL with AWS AppSync
AWS Principal Solutions Architect will provide an overview of AWS AppSync and demonstrate how AppSync can be used by web and mobile developers to build real-time apps that handle offline user scenarios. You’ll see how flexible the system is to let developers define their data structures, mix and match the backing stores using GraphQL resolvers, and customize mapping templates as needed.
GraphQL for 80 Million Users
A history of GraphQL at Bustle: How and why a GraphQL prototype changed the way we think about APIs and enveloped our entire platform. We'll explore how we built our serverless GraphQL API , how it talks to our data store, how we made it performant, and what patterns emerged along the way.
