This is our first Kubernetes Meetup in Barcelona and we have two special guests from Google coming in town, Quinton Hoole and Allan Naim. They will explain how we can achieve highly available services with the brand new Kubernetes Federated Services. Big shout-out to Everis for providing venue in such short notice.

Building Truly Global, Highly Available Services using Kubernetes Federated Services
In Kubernetes 1.4, developer can, with a single command, deploy a multi-homed service behind Google’s global Cloud Load Balancer. User traffic from around the world is sent directly to the closest cluster with usable capacity, via a single, static IP address. Come hear Quinton Hoole and Allan Naim talk about the technology and how this could transform the way you build services.
Quinton Hoole is a senior engineer on the Kubernetes team at Google and the technical lead for Kubernetes Cluster Federation (fondly known as “Ubernetes”). Before joining Google, Quinton was one of the founding engineers of EC2 at Amazon Web Services, leaving to join Nimbula.com, another pioneering cloud computing startup.
Allan is a Product Manager at Google focused on Kubernetes and Container Engine. Prior to Kubernetes,Allan played a key role in developing Google Compute Engine’s go-to-market as it graduated from incubation to becoming a GA product. Prior to Google, Allan held a variety of global roles spanning from Engineering to Evangelism at Microsoft, most recently bringing Azure to market with the ISV community.
