We have decided to split the Raspberry Pi session into two parts so as to strike a balance between the needs of the beginners and the advanced Raspberry Pi users.
The first part, which will take place today, will be a gentle introduction to the Raspberry Pi Platform and will cover
Manipulating the GPIO pins from Python, showing that it works using LED and Buzzer
Demonstrating a Simple Surveillance Camera that announces whenever someone is at the door and emails their pictures to you (if you are not at home)
Demonstrating a Simple Media Player that can be controlled from mobile phones, and can download new songs from YouTube [+] The overall idea for today's event is related to running a Simple Web Server on a Rasberry Pi and then building Services and Rasberry Pi Controls on top of the Simple Web Server. The main demonstrations would last for about an hour. Thereafter, the implementation details could be explored and discussed. [+] We hope that people would build additional projects using this or other approaches and share the ideas with us at the meetup.
The second part, which would be scheduled for a later date, will build on today's tasks and will be "Machine Learning"-focused. [+] PS: You can use this https://goo.gl/bvFof4 form to reserve a date to share your/a project or an idea with this group. All topics and all projects, from academia and from industries, are allowed as long as they are related to machine learning, artificial intelligence, and/or computer vision.
