We're going to kickoff this meetup with a 5 minute lightning talk from Everett Toews that answers the question "Is GitOps worthy of the [BuzzWord]Ops moniker?"
Then we'll get to the main event with a 30 minute talk from Kornel Kotan.
Title:
Bitbucket pipelines with Jira integration and Git Flow in action
Abstract:
With many Continuous Integration tools available in the market, it is quite a tedious task to select the best tool for your project. Running your own infrastructure or getting security clearance for lesser known third parties can cause unexpected difficulties. Why don’t you just utilise what you might already have?
Kornel will talk about his journey with Bitbucket Pipelines using GitFlow branching strategy and Jira integrations including the cultural aspects of moving towards DevOps in a “traditional” environment. In this presentation, we will discuss the considerations of choosing your git branching strategy with the right toolchain to enable frequent deployments to different cloud platforms (AWS, Mulesoft Cloudhub, and Salesforce).
Bio:
Kornel is working to design and implement highly available platforms with a focus on API driven distributed system integration using various CI/CD toolchains. He is an advocate of process automation and test driven development and hence being passionate about DevOps and the Clean Code principles, he always leaves the code better than he found it.
