Dr. Fredric Metzger is the Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health Services at the VA St. Louis Health Care System. This talk will review how big data influences day-to-day operations in a mental health system that serves an average of 16,000 veterans a year. He will review the areas where big data adds value to clinical care, common pitfalls that end line users seem to make in utilizing large data systems, techniques to improve the utility of big data systems, and what developers can do to mitigate these problems.
