Beyond Good & Evil: Designers & Digital Responsibility

May 9, 2018 · Helsinki, Finland

Are ethics important to designers? What values do our digital services promote?

There is a growing public awareness on how digital designs affect our lives - and increasing criticism over addictive designs. At the same time, the demand for designs that promote and drive meaningful causes constantly increases. As professionals working with design and shaping the future, we must be aware on how our craft affects the users - and the society broadly.

We need your help! This topic is currently under-researched and ill-understood. Take a moment right away to answer an anonymous questionnaire on the topic (deadline 20.4):
We will review the findings at the workshop. And if you want to help out, ask a friend to fill it in as well!

Our workshop will have three parts. We will start by examining topical themes in design ethics, moving forward we will give voice to professionals working with design and review the questionnaire findings. Finally, we will work together on solving the key challenges identified in the results.

To facilitate the important work, we will serve you food and drinks kindly hosted by Gofore!

17.00: Doors open
17.30: Kickoff and questionnaire findings
