SYNOPSIS

Throughout June, BCS Pride will be hosting discussions for university students with successful and inspiring members of the LGBTQ+ community. Each week a new speaker will be sharing their stories, their successes and failures, and their tips on how you can succeed as an LGBTQ+ person in STEM.

Some of the subjects discussed will include:

• Abigail Simmons - Security Engineer and head of the Trans Tech Tent (21st June, 16:30)

• Callum Akehurst-Ryan - Test Engineer, Test Lead, Project Manager and Agile Coach (28th June, 18:00)

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES

My name is Matteo Tabaro and I am a 3rd year PhD student in Mathematics at Imperial College London. I am originally from Italy, but I have now spent a few good years in London, which I absolutely adore. My main mathematical interest is in dynamical system, or the time evolution of systems governed by some physical law. In my free time, I like to cook and try food from all over the world, talk about modern and contemporary art in front of a good glass of wine, or learn about issues I was previously unaware of through books and literature.

Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over.
