You: I want to become content strategist.
Your grandma: A who? Is that some kinda military thing?
We get it. As content strategy becomes even more critical for engaging people online, it’s also become a bit more nebulous. What skills are needed? What’s the career path? What does a content strategist actually do?
September’s Content Strategy Meetup takes us back to basics on how to become a content strategist. Whether you’re a career changer or you’ve been doing content strategy for years, this month’s presentation will walk you through the steps to build the right skills for a solid, long-term career in content strategy.
Please RSVP with your first and last name for security purposes. Guerrero Howe will host the event in their Annex space, located at 770 North Halsted. Street parking is free in the neighborhood south of Chicago Ave., and paid parking is available on both Chicago and Halsted. After you check in with security, signs will direct you to the space on the 3rd floor.
Networking begins at 5:30, with announcements and discussion starting at 6:00.
Presenter: Rebecca Steurer has been practicing content strategy long before content strategy had a name. She has worked with a variety of organizations to help them define their message, voice and tone, presentation style and governance to produce exceptional digital experiences. Rebecca recently left the agency world to begin ContentAcademy, a professional training program to help professionals develop content strategy careers, and to educate small business owners, entrepreneurs and corporate marketers how to develop and share their content for optimal results. Her next Applied Content Strategy class is scheduled to begin on September 11th.
