Dec 12, 2012 · New York, United States of America

If you are interested in attending, please sign up on General Assembly's EventBrite page. Your RSVP on Meetup will NOT guarantee you access to the event. Seats are limited to the first 75 people to register on Eventbrite. As a courtesy, please rescind your RSVP on Eventbrite before the event if you are unable to attend so someone on the waiting list can attend. Thank you!
Join us at General Assembly on November 7th at 6:30pm for a technical debate on a HOT topic in the tech community: iOS or Android? The evening will kick off with a chance to meet great new people in the NYC Tech community and enjoying some free seasonal craft beer from local New York City breweries and delicious fresh organic appetizers.
Then, the battle will begin!
The debate will be between two talented technical leaders in the mobile engineering space; Kevin Galligan, Lead Developer @ and Christopher White, Co-Founder & Lead Developer @ Dannen & White. They will discuss, in technical detail, the pros and cons of each platform from an engineering, scalability, marketability, and of course profitability standpoint. More about Kevin & Christopher:
Kevin Galligan is the Lead Developer and President of TouchLab.Co. He has a BA in Computer Science from Colgate University. He spent several years managing developers for a financial firm, then left a few years ago to pursue the startup lifestyle. Since then, he has built several products, in both the web and mobile space.
Chris White is one of the co-founders of Dannen & White (, a mobile development and consulting shop based out of NYC. He is a mobile product/project manager and software engineer with over 10 years of hands-on experience in mobile and web environments. Chris specializes in iOS development and has worked most recently in NYC at SY Partners, the startup incubator Betaworks, and the mobile advertising network Medialets. His most recent projects for iOS include Unstuck, iPrintagram, HowNow, and #swirl. He is co-author of Beginning iOS Apps with Facebook and Twitter APIs: for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. He got his start developing mobile GPS Navigation software for ALK Technologies. He resides in North Brooklyn.
Because of space constraints, the first 75 people will be guaranteed a seat. We will have a waiting list and people will be notified before the event if we will have space.
