This talk will focus on presenting the technologies involved in the banknote recognition systems. The training and validation of the banknote recognition and authentication algorithms require a large data set of images. We will discuss the security features of banknotes, how to detect them and the problems associated to the recognition.
About the presenter: Marcelo Kaihara holds a doctorate degree in information science and has been active in the field of banknote recognition for 5 years and in the field of hardware and software algorithms for cryptologic applications for +10 years.
