Atomic Design (Part 2/2) // CPHUX Book Club

Nov 6, 2019 · København, Denmark

Come and read 'Atomic Design' with us.

Oct 23rd // Chapter 1-3
Nov 6th // Chapter 4-5

Instead of reading a full book we're dividing it into chapters, we'll cover around 100 pages per event. This makes it more do-able (for some) to get through the book.

Depending on the book, we can do try to do methods or tangible exercises, "Learning by doing". To attend this event it is required that you've read the chapter(s) for the specific event. You don't have to participate in all events and are welcome to just participate in one, for instance, "Event 3 // Chapter 7-9" if that is the one most relevant to you.

We always have a physical copy of the book we're reading in the CPHUX Co-Working Space. You can't borrow it home with you, but you can read it in the space (for all of those who like to read books but don't have the money to buy it or want to ensure you actually want to own the book)

We're tasked with making interfaces for more users in more contexts using more browsers on more devices with more screen sizes and more capabilities than ever before. That's a daunting task indeed. Thankfully, design systems are here to help. Atomic Design details all that goes into creating and maintaining robust design systems, allowing you to roll out higher quality, more consistent UIs faster than ever before.
This book introduces a methodology for thinking of our UIs as thoughtful hierarchies, discusses the qualities of effective pattern libraries, and showcases techniques to transform your team's design and development workflow.

Brad Frost is a web designer, speaker, writer, and consultant located in beautiful Pittsburgh, PA. He is the author of the book Atomic Design, which introduces a methodology to create and maintain effective design systems. In addition to co-hosting the Style Guides Podcast, he has also helped create several tools and resources for web designers, including Pattern Lab,, Style Guide Guide, This Is Responsive, Death to Bullshit, and more.
