ASIC, AUSTRAC and ATO discuss regulatory view on Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs)

Apr 16, 2018 · Docklands, Australia

There has been a lot of hype around Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and Cryptocurrencies, there remains uncertainty on how ICOs and cryptocurrencies are viewed by local regulators.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) and the Australian Tax Office (ATO) are convened in a Regulators public session to share and discuss the regulatory view on ICOs and crypto.

This is your opportunity to hear directly from the regulators as well as asking the important questions relating to ICOs and crypto such as:
-What are ICOs and what are the warnings the regulators are giving?
-Can I do my own ICO in Australia? Do I need a license?
-What's the tax treatment of crypto currencies and what tax issues arise for ICO’s?

Please RSVP, spots for this event are limited.
