6:30-7:15 Introducing Kubeflow - Pete MacKinnon, Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat

Introducing Kubeflow: The Kubeflow project is dedicated to making deployment of machine learning on Kubernetes simple, portable and scalable. Its goal is not to recreate existing ML or notebook frameworks, but to provide a straightforward way to deploy the best-of-breed open-source ML systems such as TensorFlow to various cloud infrastructures. Slide presentation with a demo.

Pete MacKinnon is a Principal Software Engineer in the Middleware business unit at Red Hat. He is an active committer in the open source Kubeflow project with Google and Microsoft engineers to bring TensorFlow and other machine learning workloads to container environments (Kubernetes and OpenShift). His group is also focused on deploying Apache Spark analytics workloads to Kubernetes.

7:15-8:00 Dev Tools landscape for Kubernetes - Steve Speicher, Principal Product Manager at Red Hat.

Steve will take a look at the landscape of tools, such as: minikube, draft, skaffold, gitkube, OpenShift client, ... These will be compared, some demos and highlight what it appears to be gaining traction with developers and what new tools should exist.
