(We're at a new venue this month! Please note that we're not meeting at Pivotal Labs.)
We have learned a ton about how to develop great products--and many of us teach people about just that! Topics from agile and lean methodologies, stakeholder management, prioritization, vision-setting, and roadmapping are a few of the areas for which great methods exist in a corporate environment. Despite that, we also see a number of people and companies use less effective practices--struggling as a result.
This workshop is about taking what works from product management and applying those perspectives to overall life. Setting and understanding a vision, clarifying into goals, breaking down into manageable steps, testing expensive hypotheses. These powerful successful methods can be applied to home management, career planning, dating, and any other aspect of life. There are also a few takeaways from personal life that can be applied into our product best practices as well.
As the lines blur between personal and professional life, let's take some time to understand more about how people work and how that impacts both realms. By the end, you should have a newfound empathy for the audiences you teach, consult, and work with--as well as insights you can apply to your own individual lives!
