Android Open Accessory Mode - Denys Karpov
I want to show you what Android Accessory mode is and how it can help building new features for you products or can be used for testing. We will review Android Auto as an example of how Google achieves compatibility with a billion devices using open APIs which are available for everyone.
Since Android Open Accessory works over USB, we will check some USB peculiarities, discover what we can and can't do, how to setup a pipe between an Android device and the host machine, and I’ll share some tips and tricks, which will help you avoid issues. Also I'll tell you about different versions of AoA, compare this approach with host mode, and finally, I’ll show you how to build custom applications similar to Android Auto using projection API.
