Hi AmsterdamJS!
Having the holidays well behind us I hope you are ready for another edition of your favorite JavaScript meetup! As always it will have cool talks, free drinks and great attendees.
Here's what the schedule will look like:
19:00 - The meetup starts at Cafe Heffer (Oudebrugsteeg 7)
19:15 - Andreas Knecht: Taming the back-end Dinosaur
Learn how the JIRA developers - a team with mostly backend expertise - figured out how to write full client-side applications through the use of backbone, brace and qunit! This talk will not only show you some techniques for writing client-side applications, but how the increase in devspeed will make all your back-end developers fall in love with developing complex Javascript applications.
19:45 - Interlude/drinks
20:15 - Fabian Jakobs: node-webkit
The creator of the Ace editor will walk us through node-webkit and its crazy possibilities. Pretty cool stuff. Hint: Node everywhere!
20:45 - Interlude/drinks
21:15 - Jeroen Dijkmeijer: An online CAD system in JavaScript
Jeroen will be presenting his online open-source drawing project, built with SVG (which he extends) and JavaScript.
Given that the venue has limited space, I'd like to ask that people try to RSVP saying whether they will come or not, it makes much easier to organize and it is fair for people who really want to attend but are put in the queue because of lack of space. Thanks!
