First meetup under new management! We start a series of quality meetups here in London. Covering such topics as: AI, analytics, machine learning and advanced data visualisation.
Organised together with https://www.meetup.com/LondonArtificialIntelligence/
(please RSVP only here or on London Artificial Intelligence page)
6:30pm: Free beer+pizza, socialise around
7:00pm: “Decoding user emotions and themes through Topological Data Analysis and Deep Learning or what you didn’t know about Saudi Arabia” by Edward Kibardin, Head of Data Science at Mitie plc
Using his recent case study of themes and emotions in relation to Saudi Arabia, Ed will present a new way to analyse and segment complex and highly dimensional data such as user emotions and text. Learn more about data visualisation methods - topological map and wheel of emotions - and technology that enables them.
7:30pm - 7:45pm Break
7:45pm: “Reproducible data science: review of Pachyderm, Dataversioncontrole and GIT LFS tools“ by Josh Levy-Kramer, Data Science Lead at Outra
The advances in machine learning are great, yet, in order to have real value within a company, data scientists must be able to go from a research project to a reproducible process. A common problem is that the code is intrinsically linked to the data it was developed against. Hence it is critically important to track, trace and validate the input data used to train and test the algorithm. This talk will be a review of the several tools which for data versioning and processing.
8:00pm: “Visual debugging of Convolutional Neural Nets” by Leonardo De Marchi, Lead Data Scientist at Badoo
Neural Networks nowadays are regarded as a magic wand to solve any problem, but they are described by many as “black boxes”. In this talk we will see how it’s possible to gain some insights, improve a CNN and find problems in a visual way.
8:30pm-9:30pm Socialising and networking
