This will be a hands-on learning session exploring the basics of deep learning. The session is intended for all with an interest but admittedly programmers will likely benefit the most. Students are also most certainly welcome.
This session will cover the basics of the multi-layer perceptron, backpropagation, activation functions, tensors and loading/feeding tensors into networks, building auto-encoders, convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks and GANs. The final project will be the development of a simple GAN.
Attendance for this session is limited to 30 and all those attending will be expected to bring a laptop with Python 3.6 installed and a preferred development environment. Anaconda is a very good choice for Windows users and Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code also work well.
