2013's been a busy year for Spring as part of Pivotal! Spring continues to meet the needs of next generation applications with support for stream processing, data integration, HTML5 and websockets, PaaS support and big-data workloads using Hadoop. Additionally, Spring - as part of a new company called Pivotal - is the heart of a rich platform along with Cloud Foundry, Grails, RabbitMQ, Hadoop, and Tomcat. Josh Long is the Spring developer advocate. Josh is the lead author on Apress’ Spring Recipes, 2nd Edition, and a SpringSource committer and contributor. When he's not hacking on code, he can be found at the local Java User Group or at the local coffee shop. Josh likes solutions that push the boundaries of the technologies that enable them.
