#153 The Job-to-Be-Done Persona: Getting to the Heart of Causality and Empathy

Apr 26, 2018 · American Fork, United States of America

Everyone has an opinion about personas. Some swear by them, while others question their value entirely. Come hear a new take on personas that borrows from Clayton Christensen's Jobs-to-be-done theory to make it clear why users are buying/using your product while also establishing the human empathy required to build great products.

Jeff made the pivot to Product Management from McKinsey & Co., a global management consulting firm. He began product management at Vivint.SmartHome where he played PM in the MVP development of a machine learning state machine for the Smart Home and the redesign of Vivint's consumer mobile application. He recently returned from an adventure in Uganda where he was Head of Product for Safeboda, a ride-sharing company for motorcycle taxis. Since returning, he's been on the entrepreneur's journey...TBA where it leads! Jeff learned about JTBD theory from Matt Eyring, Vivint's Chief Innovation Officer and Founder of Innosight, Clayton Christensen's innovation consulting firm.
